New Britain, CT -- May 5, 2004 – The McCue Mortgage Company announced today that it has partnered with the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) and selected Realtors to offer educational seminars for first time homebuyers around the state. The “Opening Doors” education series will give first time homebuyers an overview of purchasing real estate and what is involved in the lending process. Some of the topics include understanding credit and budgeting, how to make a purchase offer on a home, understanding the mortgage process, and managing finance over the long term.

The “Opening Doors” education series is free and will kick off on Tuesday, May 25 at the East Hartford Library, 840 Main Street , from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The seminars will be conducted by CHFA and McCue Mortgage. The East Hartford event will also feature Sentry Real Estate who will talk about the process of purchasing real estate. The seminar series is available at other locations around the state including:

-      May 26, 6:00 – 7:30 - New Britain , One Liberty Square

-      June 1, 6:30 – 8:00 – Winsted Fire Department

-      June 8, 6:00 – 7:30 – Middletown Town Hall

-      June 9, 6:30 – 8:00 – Stratford Public Library

-      June 24, 6:30 – 8:00 – Groton Public Library
